Would Notre Dame be as popular today if they had used the English version of the college's name?

Under the charter the school is officially named the University of Notre Dame du Lac, which means University of Our Lady of the Lake.

Do you think the school would still have been popular if it were "University of Our Lady"?

It would be kind of funny hearing commentators say "Our Lady" won't see any action until next Saturday when they open up against San Diego State!
Reply:I don't think so because the school got famous through its football prowess and I doubt many football players would want to play for a school called University of Our Lady.
