Help trying to remmember the name of toy popular in the 80's?

They are currently being used on a tv advert. They are bits of molded plastic shaped in to a animal etc, with a small spring and a flat piece of plastic as a base. You pressed the plastic together and wait for the suction to give way and they popped up in the air. Looking for the real name for them, Thanks!

They were defiantly called 'popups'.


I have found a site where you can still buy them now and whats most amazing they still have the frogs!!.

Reply:I remember these and I had a few, I think the earlier answer is right monster/animal poppers.
Reply:They are older than 80's. They were popular when I was a kid in the 70's and they may have been around longer than that. I don't know what they are called though.

Reply:ooo i rememember them, but I dont know that I ever knew what they were called. my elder brother used to tell me to watch it very closley and carefully, and I did....every time resulting in it hitting me in the face!!! you would think after a couple of times, I would have learnt, but was only little!!!
