Is "Moondog" still a popular name for a boy babby in America?

My sister-in-law's neighbor has a cousin who plans to name her babby after the father.

Is "Moondog" still a popular name for a boy babby in America?
No, Moon-dog is not a popular name for a baby anymore. However if it's a family name it may hold special meaning to them especially if this man is an exceptional father figure and they want to honor him. Now that makes it very special.
Reply:I think Moondog is a nickname and I don't think it's a good idea to name a baby with that, but if it's has special meaning for the family, that's another issue.
Reply:What do you mean still? I don't think it ever was popular. I have never met anyone named Moondog.
Reply:Never heard of anyone being named Moondog . It was a nickname for a surfer years ago .
