Why is john smith a popular name?
Of all the possible first names and of all the possible last names, one of each had to be the most common. It's inevitable. It just happened to be those 2 names, but there's no rhyme or reason to it.
Reply:According to the Mormon Faith John Smith was a Prophet,that wrote and spread the word of Christ.
Reply:It's an anonymous male name, to describe the "average joe" the average American man. Same for Jane Doe, female version.
